Largs is a small coastal town comprising of 13, 000 people. Though it is a small town it has become a very popular holiday and beach resort. It is located opposite to the North End of Great Cumbrae Island on the River Clyde. It has historical reverence way back during the rule of the Vikings.
On the contrary North Ayrshire is a more largely populated town with a population of about 139, 000, comprising the area of Scotland and the surrounding islands as well.
The two towns together have become good tourist attractions with its many rivers and beaches. It has a few church parishes of the nineteenth century origin. A railway station in the recent years added to its importance by making it easily accessible for the tourists.
