"They Got a Hold" is an MSPAFA, or 'MS Paint Adventure Fan (or Forum) Adventure'. MSPAFA's are small webcomics tributing the style of 'MS Paint Adventures', and usually made by idividuals, or collaborations or its fanbase.
History
They Got a Hold was created initially to be based around the song "They Got a Hold" by K.Flay, a favorite artist of the author.
The adventure opens with an embedded music video for the song, made specifically for the adventure.
Mirror
Many longer forum adventures have mirrors set up, to hasten the reading process. These cut out all conversation had within the forum thread, leaving only the actual comic updates.
The author of "They Got a Hold," TheBoyd, chose to be opptomistic, and create his mirror prematurely. This also would make thre process less intimidating, if the adventure ever truley needed a mirror.
